DigitalTrains™ offers powerful comparison tools that enable users to evaluate trains and simulations, streamlining the rail design process and saving time during project development. By efficiently assessing train models, properties, and simulation results, users can achieve better train performance, safety, and cost savings.

COMPARE TRAINS

DigitalTrains™ allows users to compare trains in the library with any other train, facilitating efficient assessment of vehicle properties and interfaces. This feature is especially valuable for project administrators, who can review changes made by team members and accept or decline them. With a comprehensive comparison tool, DigitalTrains™ ensures a collaborative, accurate, and efficient train design process.

COMPARE SIMULATIONS

DigitalTrains™ also enables users to compare simulation results from any project. Users can evaluate the performance of different trains in collision scenarios or train running operations, or compare the same train under varying conditions. This feature helps identify the most efficient and safe design by examining the outcomes of different scenarios and configurations.

Example Process Using DigitalTrains™ with Reference Train

  1. Create a DigitalTrains™ Reference Train based on test data and historical experience from an existing real Reference Train.
  2. Develop a new train design within the DigitalTrains™ platform, incorporating desired features and performance criteria.
  3. Use the Compare Trains tool to evaluate your new train design against the Digital Twin of the Reference Train, identifying areas for improvement or optimization.
  4. Conduct simulations for both the Reference Train and the new train design to compare their performances in various scenarios, such as collisions or train running operations.
  5. Utilise the Compare Simulations tool to analyse simulation results and identify discrepancies in performance between the Reference Train and the new design.
  6. Refine the design based on comparison results, ensuring it meets or exceeds the benchmark set by the Reference Train.
  7. The project administrator reviews the updated design and simulation results, approving or rejecting changes as necessary. Repeat steps 3-6 if further refinements are needed.
  8. Streamline the Train Acceptance Process by aligning the optimized design with the Reference Train’s performance, expediting the new train’s readiness for service.

By leveraging the Digital Twin of a Reference Train, DigitalTrains™ users can efficiently optimize new train designs, saving time and cost in the rail design process.
